The Phuket immigration volunteers website only mentions proof of income from a embassy for it.

See: http://piv-phuket.com/long-stay-extensions/retirement/

The website was updated a while ago and the reference to income letter/certificate was removed.

Everybody can use the combination option for now if required.

Slightly off point. When I did my Permit to Stay for Retirement in September, I was not told anything about having to go back to Phuket Immi, to show that I still had funds in my bank account. Did I blink and miss something, or is this only asked for with certain members of the retirees?

Phuket immigration does not require people to show the bank balance when doing the 90 day reporting.

It has been changed since I did my post.

Shows updated in October. Perhaps that should be changed to the last few days.

They do random funds checks after 90 days according to their website.

Sorry Joe, I really meant 100% for 2 before,3 after and the rest of the time 50%, as you quite correctly corrected me. Cheers.

I shall ask my IO if 50k per month (which is what I need to live on) = 600k plus 200k  in bank then down to 100k. Fingers crossed.

UPDATE. Asked at P'lok Immigration today. All OK with 50k a month = 600k, plus 200k in the bank two months before and 3 months after, rest of the time 100k..

How do you know? Do you know everyone staying in Phuket doing 1 year extensions based on retirement since March 1 2019?
