Over the last couple of pages I was happy to

see old 50s stuff coming up. It was the

beginning of my record collecting day, with

a small heap of Rockabilly. With some sadness

I sold the lot 2 years ago to pay for my trip

here. 14,000 records about 2 tons forklifted

off the mezzanine, my son picked a few out

for himself and handled the sale, I couldn't

do it. Anyway I got the youtubles, sod it.

Not many of yoos will remember Rockabilly

so here goes....

Wow, so sorry to hear about the loss of your precious 14,000 album collection!  You should have contacted me first.  While I had friends nearing the 1K mark the largest physical collection I ever laid eyes on was of an unknown number.  I related earlier that I had once worked as a service bartender in a pizzeria in Chicago.  The owner, Dan Bacin, used to own a very progressive FM rock station whose call letters I can't remember.  In his house he had a wall that had to have been no less than 30 feet in length and was floor to ceiling record albums.  Rather than pay his barber in cash he would pay him in record albums, LOL.

Stray Cats with Stray Cat Strut off of their eponymous '81 debut.  One of the premier post-era rockabilly bands in my humble opinion.

The Radiacs are a Sheffield band that suited up in the late 80's.  While this was a later recording it's a great cover of She's My Witch.

Johnny Burnette' And The Rock 'N Roll Trio with their classic '56 single Train Kept A Rollin', originally written and recorded by Tiny Bradshaw in '51.
