some sort of Rat Snake (radiated rat snake??). we had one in the kitchen years ago  but unfortunately we found it dead in a glue trap for cockroaches.

Beautiful in my opinion.

Looks like a flat snake possibly a dunlop now perfectly harmless think I would selected reverse just to make sure though????

It's the same as almost every other snake posted for identification on Thai visa - dead.

Rat snakes usually have stripes down the side but this is 100% a radiated rat snake also known as a copperhead-racer which is a shame because they are non-venomous and kill their prey by constriction.

Most definitely a Copperhead Racer..

As above, a type of rat snake...

Aggressive but not seriously dangerous to humans. Very quick normally, so you must have done a Hamilton out of a pit stop ????

Just to say my wife put my 3 year old daughters rubber snake in my hanging  clothes for a joke a while back, nearly died ! Must look at that insurance policy again

That was one of the good snakes to have around.  Just leave them alone and you will have no problem with them.  All of the rat snakes are good to have around to help get rid of critters.

My dog thinks getting rid of the critters is his job and he will deal with any poacher who dosen't have a work permit. He deals with rats and poacchers (Snakes) with equal distain.

Yep, I try and try to save the good ones but I've 3 "snake" dogs who don't even say sorry!

Had one exactly the same and the City Hall snake catchers called it a Coconut Snake. Yes it is beautiful and they took it away alive.

Rat snakes are a protected species in Thailand.  Killing them or allowing your dogs to kill them can result in criminal charges. Plus it's really stupid to harm a snake that keeps rodents away from your property.

Its definitey a rat snake, probably a beauty snake from the markings. They make popular pets in the West, something a bit different than a corn snake. The species is Orthriophis taeniura, and they help to control rodent numbers. Non-dangerous to man and economically beneficial.
