It looks as though if you need to update your UK driving licence, you sometimes need to be a resident of the UK. When you submit your application you have to give them your passport number, which they use to identify you. I don't know whether this means they can see your travel history.

 

I guess I'm not the only one on here who'd be hard pressed to say where I was "resident", but I can see some official looking at my history and saying it wasn't the UK.

 

Does anyone have any experience of updating their licence, e.g. to change UK address, when they've not been spending much time in the UK, or has anyone run into any trouble around this?
