Which office....why do you need divorce and death papers..they do tend to ask for the green/blue book at Jomtien, which seems strange as owner would not give the book be for payment, but that's how it is

Check very carefully that your details are correct...mine where wrong 3 times in a row

1: misspelled surname

2: passport number wrong

3: house number wrong...even I didn't notice the house number wrong  so now my drivers licences are incorrect ????

lucky I didn't have to wait 3 weeks for each one !!

i'm on retirement extensions and have never had any unpleasantness from any IO, in fact quite the opposite, i have always found them pleasant, helpful and reasonably efficient. maybe it helps to have all your paperwork well organised, dress reasonably well, it was embarrassing to see the state of dress of some foreigners at CW this week, always be relaxed, friendly, and calm. i just think people can do a lot to help themselves with a bit of forethought, common sense and calmness.

C'mon mate, don't be so "dead serious", this isn't the "Visa" forum, it is the bloody "Farang pub".  Now I'll let you enjoy your visit to immigration, I'll go to Soi Nana instead, but without the wife.

You don't even let her watch?

My point here is that the main benefit of the Marriage extension is that you have to take your wife along, and so let her deal with the unpleasantness.

I do the 800k and take the wife along, she deals with it "all" never taken more than 20 minutes for each renewal (15 years)

The less I have to deal with Thai officialdom the better for me!

No...you have it all wrong!  She acted and glared the way she did...because she has been trained in Thai Immigration Officer communications...another star student.  ☺

Had one of these young, snooty types incorrectly question me about a visa issue many moons ago. After politely putting her right and a bit of toing and froing, she'd ran out of cards and dealt me a "I have the power to take away your visa". I simply said, ok, we'll see about that. Requested to see the lieutenant, who I'd known (not personally) for a few years; had a brief sit-down chat after which said young lady got publicly corrected with a hint of face-loss. Smiles all around and no loss of temper... as soon as that goes, you're screwwwed.

Of course, the above won't work if you are in the wrong and/or look like a tramp. ????

post 2 that was a JOKE this is the pub forum,  so i might ask if the cert of residency,is valid for one month, what if one was wanting the cert to go looking for a bike, you would not have the dam green book and as an ADD TO,,   this morning i was putting the paperwork away , and jobs worth has only kept my ORIGINAL CONTRACT and handed back the COPY  duh, !!? so do i go back or not ?? oh oh and she was going to fire into the girl for not doing her job ha ha, this was Jomtien by the way, lovely young girl at window 9, as to dress sense i think i was the only one wearing long trousers lol, bloody ell just think if they decided to follow that rule the place would be empty

It works if you have a well known immigration lawyer at the end of the phone, no matter how you look.

But it's easier to avoid any contact with Thai immigration in the first place IMHO.

I just let my Thai daughter do all registrations, even down to SIMs.

The first one probably had all the mistakes..I stopped reading and asked her to correct as soon as I noticed..then the second one kept reading until the second mistake..by the 3rd on I kind of thought  there can't be anything else wrong  ( can there ? )  and  quickly glanced at the other  bits..wasnt until I got the drivers licence and checked them that I noticed the  house number is wrong.

Hmmmmm. Never had uniforms when I visited:-)

All of your fantasies inside the closet.

And if not happy with that, just had to ask Monsieur Marc.

But I am agree that his successor was more like a bartender rather than a bordello owner.
