The foreign man can clearly be heard saying "He [expletive deleted] tried to ...." He definitely thinks the Asian man did something intentionally. @mauGR1 makes a good point about uncrowded conditions on the train being less than optimal for pick pocketing, but the foreign guy did have a shoulder bag and the fact that he had earphones in may have made him a target because he appeared distracted by whatever he was listening to.

 

Take a look at the role the big guy in the yellow shirt plays. He almost immediately starts actively running interference and acts as a physical barrier between the small Asian guy and the foreign guy whereas no one else on the train gets involved. The guy in the yellow shirt stays facing the small Asian guy the whole time acting as if he thinks the small Asian guy might become violent but the whole time he's looking over his shoulder at the foreign guy as if he knows the small Asian guy isn't a threat. The guy in the yellow shirt grasps the small Asian guy's wrist almost immediately and holds onto it the entire time. It's also interesting that the guy in the yellow shirt appears to get off the train with the small Asian guy. Yeah, I'm wondering if they might have been a team. Am I going to be accused of Thai bashing for saying this?

I would say in over 10 years living here, the Dutch nutters I have met have been on another level of crazy. Proper headbangers and super dangerous.

Just making the point that every nationality has its bad eggs . I actually dislike it when Thai visa purposefully puts the nationality in the heading just to get clicks . Then everyone goes on a mud slinging exercise just to find out someone of your own nationality pops up in the news the next day ! The biggest problem is Thailand tends to attract a big slice of a countries underclass like a magnet.

But it seems to be ok to put Thais down no matter what but we cant sling mud at other nationalities because we are from those countries ?

I've never read such a load of feeble notions on one subject. The train looks 1/3 empty yet this Thai guy bumps into someone using a mobile, you never see Thai's using mobiles in public!

He probably thought he was being very clever knocking the mobile out of his hands, didn't expect a slap to improve his manners, yes, not all Thai's are little angels either.
