This is obviously in response to the fact that Dr Her for Dr Who has not gone over well.

Coincidentally I watched an episode last night (Orphan 55). No issue with a female Dr Who (The Master turned female a while back) but the episode stood out for two main reasons:

  1. the pathetically dismal acting (not designed for Oscar nominations but pretty sure it's gone downhill from a very low base)
  2. the propaganda of the plot and the "speech" by the Dr designed to scare kids to death over climate change

Disagree.  Sean Connery, the Original 007!

Wiggy Connery was never real - more comic book. Moore played it well but tongue in cheek. Dalton and Brosnan useless.

Craig, IMO, saved the franchise by adding realistic bite. Totally believable.

And a shi# actor.

but much better an actor than Connery! Connery still plays every role exactly the same as he did Bond!

Have you noticed in MM that there are always 3 murders before the dumb cops work out whodunnit?

Brilliant! Thanks for taking your time off to find out such a vital part of information and sharing it for free.

Looking at your profile pic I can see why.

Agree, Moore was a self obsessed narcissist.

2nd worst after Lazenby.

Moore just pipping Dalton.

Brosnan and Craig acceptable.

Niven in parallel "Bondverse".

I knew someone at secondary school who proudly sported the hairstyle, and wore the suit, of Moores "Simon Templar".

He also carried a briefcase with the "Saint" logo, applied by fountain pen, on it.

Of course nobody took the p***........much.

I was having a nice conversation with Ivor, but thank you for imposing yourself with a snarky comment.

"My names Bond, Janet Bond"

just doesn't seem to cut it for me...

Jamie Bond?

Jennie Bond?

Janey Bond?

And then of course, there would be the romantic implications. That would presumably mean the female Bond would be a lesbian, or at least bi-sexual, in order to engage the various Bond women that show up in the movies....

Could bring a whole different flavor to the movies, I'd say!

Always resist me-too. Always resist PC. Good on her for not giving in. PC is ugly, weak and pathetic. I am all for treating women well and giving them their due. But, that does not include the world, nor my fealty.

He will be remembered for having two facial expressions when acting. Eyebrow up...or down.

Fun ( but totally irrelevant ) Fact #473

Roger Moore lodged at my grandads brothers house in the 50’s when he was a ( knitwear ) model for Grattan catalogue.

I wonder if this influenced my short ( two weeks ) but successful modelling career in the early 70’s ????

We once took a coach trip to see The Phantom of the Opera in London and stopped at a hotel near Elstree. The next day the coach driver told us that the actor that played The Saint and James Bond also stayed at our hotel last night, then he added "I think it was him as a woman was shouting Roger....More all night"☹️

My Dad worked for MI6. Never saw him with an Aston Martin or a stack of casino chips..... Hollywood!

Recently saw Funeral in Berlin again.  Deighton's answer to Bond is Harry Palmer, played by Michael Caine.  He arrives to work in a bus, and pleads with boss for a salary advance of 300 pounds for a car.

Connery looked like someone who could kill.  Moore was sort of a "do as I say or I shall have no recourse but to speak to you harshly!"  I still say that Sam Neil should have been Moore's replacement.  If you've seen Riley: Ace of Spies you'll know what I mean.

Best Bond flick: From Russia With Love

My favorite Bond movie was Thunderball.

Ian Fleming only wrote 12 Bond novels, odd that Hollywood is producing "new" Bond films 555

A Scarlette Johansen 007 would not bug me at all. Or even 069. Whatever number she wants.

I think the current James Bond is the best there has been. Worst by far was Roger Moore. Second place, Connery.

Are you joking? Worst bond was timothy dalton. Bit more humor in roger moores movies. Sean connery did the part well as did daniel craig  we all think diffrent eachone have his/her taste but to say RM and SC are worst of them then u dint know what your talking about
