Effective already in September 2018.

Why does this matter?

It matters because it changes the process in a very significant way in how to legalize foreign documents for use in Philippines legal and immigration matters.

For example applications for their SRRV residency visas that will require some documents to be legalized such as police clearance reports.

But wait. There is more.

Not all countries are in this convention. So for documents that are in the convention, the apostille process is well defined. But if you need a document from a country that is NOT in the convention, then you need to legalize in another way that can be more vague.

Relevance?

THAILAND is NOT in the convention.

You can never get an apostille for a document from Thailand.
