The Thai government will not disclose the locations where about 160 people, due to be evacuated from the Chinese city of Wuhan tomorrow, are to be quarantined for two weeks for observation, to avoid possible opposition to their presence from people in the neighbourhood.

Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said today that he will meet with Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha this afternoon to discuss potential venues to accommodate the evacuees during the 14 day quarantine period.

He said that the ideal location will help the evacuees relax, where they can enjoy fresh air and convenience, adding that the location will not be disclosed for the safety of all parties concerned. Earlier, the Royal Thai Army and the Royal Thai Navy announced that they are ready to open their barracks to accommodate the returning Thais from Wuhan.

Why? other countries that have brought people home have no problem with disclosing where they are to be kept, maybe they don't really have anywhere.....

Won't be in Chiang Mai then thank heavens.

"Fresh air" can't be found anywhere in Thailand. Right now there are large areas of China that have better air quality than Thailand.

They want to be 100 percent in control in case some do not make it through the 14 days,

those could then be considered died from some other reason,  get the point now.

100 percent control...

Fear and apprehension (or loathing for that matter) are not solely attributes of Thais as can be evidenced by many post on this forum.
