less young people are wearing watches

I'm not arguing that point, as most young people rarely spend anytime outside away from a phone or computer it's quite understandable that watches are not worn as much as they once were, though I am not convinced by far that this can be viewed as a positive.

Your requirements are quite niche, less young people are wearing watches

Take a walk around any shopping mall in Thailand and try and count how many young people aren't wearing a watch, you'll be surprised at how few..

And most of them spend multiple hours of each day gawping at the screen of a telephone. Often responding to inane messages, taking pictures of what they eat and sharing them or playing mind numbing childish games.

I don't believe it is an example I need to imitate.

I do occasionally wish to know what time it is, like last night, as I had arranged to meet someone. I arranged it by phone, and completed it with my wristwatch.

As others have said you will need to go to BKK to get it service or repaired. There are two SAB and Pendulum both near Wireless road. If you google either they will give details of how to find them. I can recommend Pendulum as I get my Breitling watch serviced by them. They speak very good English.

It will take some time as they have to send off for all the gaskets and other bit's that will have to be renewed. The good thing is you will know you have had it done by people that know what they are doing.

My last service with a few new parts mostly for the strap and re-polish case and strap came to 20k bht. Took around 8 weeks.

Thanks for the replies guys,I only want a new stem winder, which my research shows is only a 10 minute job!I think i will wait until i go back to the UK.

If you have time in Thailand I might recommend you get it fixed here as I found them very good on price. (Well Tag were). Not only the tax, but pretty sure the UK dealer had to ship it to Europe and back. Quite costly.

Two weeks in a bit tight I think, Depends on needed parts I expect but I would not feel comfortable leaving it there with a close flight booked.

Since we are arguing about watches now...am I strange for loving watches, but hating wearing them?

Usually, when I want to know the time, rather than dig my phone out of my backpack (I like bulky things in my pocket even less than I like them on my wrist), I just ask someone else who I see wearing a watch. ????

I already have too many watches that I don’t wear.  Multiples of some too.  Crazy...I know.
