Number of Covid-19 cases unchanged at 33, says health ministry

The Ministry of Public Health briefed the press today (February 14) on the latest data of the new coronavirus (Covid-19) infection in Thailand.

“A female Chinese tourist infected with the virus was discharged today as she had fully recovered,” said permanent secretary Dr Sukhum Kanjanapimai. “Accumulated cases of Covid-19 remain unchanged at 33, with 20 tested positive for infection, while 13 have fully recovered and discharged”.

Among those hospitalised, two suffer from ARDS [Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome] and have been treated with ECMO [Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation]. Both are in stable conditions, he added.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health Anutin Charnvirakul said the Thais brought back from Wuhan and placed in quarantine were in good health and spirit. “The quarantine period will end in five days, and I will personally pay them a visit before they return home,” he said.

When asked about the Seabourn Ovation cruise ship that docked in Phuket yesterday, Anutin said passengers on board were scheduled to disembark in Thailand on the same day, unlike the Westerdam cruise ship which the government denied docking.

“The ship operator had sent us the docking schedule, list of passengers along with their physical exam results before it entered Thai waters,” he said.

“Most importantly, the ministry’s Department of Disease Control dispatched medical staff to screen all passengers before allowing them to disembark in Phuket”.

If it's true then they did not count him and sent him back home in self quarantine.

Surprised the freaking health minister didn't have him deported ????

It's likely that, upon the orders of Anutin, they stopped the count at 33 and diagnose further cases as dengue fever or similar.

Which is what Indonesia is thought of doing, with ZERO cases and a tourist destination like Bali.

A Google  translation of an article published today in a French economic newspaper :

But other than that, all is well in the land of the frozen smile

" The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), behind these figures, also reported that "70 airlines have canceled all international flights to and from China" and "50 other airlines have reduced their flying activities. "
The epidemic of the new coronavirus has resulted in "a potential reduction of $ 4 billion to $ 5 billion" in revenues for airlines around the world, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) said on Thursday in a statement.

As a result, this resulted in "an 80% reduction in foreign air capacity for travelers to and from China and a 40% reduction in air capacity for Chinese airlines," according to preliminary estimates by the organization. "

Part of China, the epidemic of coronavirus, now called "Covid-19" by the WHO, constitutes a "very serious threat to the rest of the world" and the virus must be considered by the international community as "the public enemy number one, ( So I guess Thailand is not part of the "rest of the world" "said director general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on Tuesday.

Speaking at a seminar attended by more than 400 researchers and representatives of national health authorities in Geneva, the number one of the World Health Organization called for sharing of samples of the virus and an acceleration of research treatments and vaccines.

"With 99% of the cases recorded in China, this remains essentially an emergency for this country but which represents a very serious threat for the rest of the world", he underlined.

"We hope that one of the results of this meeting will be a roadmap on which researchers and donors can align themselves," he added, adding that a vaccine could be discovered within 18 months.

The worst of it is, once this coverup blows in their faces, nothing will happen, no heads will roll, a few Thais will mumble in facebook.

The undisclosed diagnostics backlog must be closing on 1000 by now.

Is anyone still believing this garbage?

They must have vaccinated the entire pop then.

It's criminal to give people a false sense of security

while this thing is proving that it spreads so quickly and easily.

Singapore had 9 in a single day and it's all due to the natural movement

of people....and most people there dont really go out to mingle these days.

The latest numbers came from events that unfolded at a

church gathering....

Ah. You've been infected with the Peter Pan virus.

Any thoughts on the 36 year old decrepit old fart that died from covid19 a few days ago???

Sad to say they would have died anyway.

Covid19 is just adding to the figures, 2000? so far?

We all know how many people die from normal ( corona virus flu )

Covid19 is a new kind of Corona virus.

Two things for you to look at.

1. Bog standard corona flu virus.

2. New Covid19 flu virus that causes a different kind of lung infection more likely to kill you.

Different receptor profiles that make it worse.

Nice pics! Modern Medical  Art ? Does not alter the statistical evidence by  comparisons  for medical intervention even allowing for the  proliferate number of cases in China.

"Normal corona virus flu" ? Which is that?

Human coronavirus would be one and there is probably more if you search.

There  are 7 identified that infect  humans. One of those is  the "common cold"  virus.

If it  was not a  self limited viral infection it would  rot  your  head off and  you  would die. That despite  it's  demonstrated mutations sufficient  enough  to keep   coming around  and around ! Millions of people every  year. Short  lived  and causes misery  and lost  working  hours but because  short  lived   vaccines are not deemed practical. No consideration of a  mutation that is  not  self limited? Why no drama about  that potential?

So /and? What  kills people in the hundreds  of thousands/millions every year? Who does it  kill? Who in terms  of  social  infrastructure  and  socio-economics  are a drain on  finances in  whatever  and whichever form are  "accounted"?? Which is  more  insidious? The  diseases  or the priority  of prevention/elimination?

No  conspiracy in it as such? The glaring fact  that apart from  creating  a profitable industry in extracting excessive  profit  from that sector who can pay there is  scant interest in preserving  or protecting in real terms those  who can not or are dispensable to that ideology.

I have little  need  to "search". I worked for some decades in compensatory provision of assistance to those who in real terms were of no humanitarian interest other than for profit.

I retired  from  that occupation depressed and  disallusioned  but very aware of the callous agenda of the inhumanity  of  mankind that we  have been coerced into believing is beneficial to  greater interests.

The intergration  of  religion, social media and politics derived and  also contrived  by does  not  impress  my personal perception or convince  me to be distracted from the greatr reality that despite  ourselves  if  such as a  virus were to emanate from whatever  source capable of  wiping  us out  it  will  happen regardless. Nature has the  greater potential.
