Road to Mae sai

Featured Replies

Does anyone know how the roadworks are on Chiang Mai to Mae Sai(border) as of the last few days Feb 2020? Is it still a 3 to 4 hour run? TIA

As of this past Sunday the 118 was still under heavy construction, but traffic was moving.  You know you can take the 107 to Mai Sai.  A little longer, but a nice drive. Some scenic stops along the way, if you are into that.

Confirmed--I did a visa run few weeks ago ago and 118 was a hot mess..absolute <deleted>

Might want to take the long way round via 107...mae sai is bustling at night now due to 9pm border!

It was a bloody nightmare in November, so doubt it’s changed... endless. What makes it worse is the idiots who try to overtake on single lane muddy temporary construction lanes.

i have a patient (after back surgery) to bring from chiang mai back to chiang rai. how are

the condition for the road 107? my alternative route is over lampang, detour about 2 hours ...!
thanks for any feedback, motdaeng
