Thailand to implement measures to discourage COVID-19 “Super Spreader”

 

 

BANGKOK (NNT) - The National Communicable Disease Committee’s decision to declare COVID-19 the nation’s 14th dangerous communicable disease will empower officials to impose stricter preventative measures against COVID-19 and will discourage those infected from becoming “Super Spreaders.”

 

Deputy Prime Minister and Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul made the comment after the committee made the decision. He stressed that the COVID-19 situation in Thailand is under control, while adding that once the declaration is published in the royal gazette, officials will be authorized to implement public health policies that will prevent or slow down the spread of the coronavirus. These measures may include fines and jail terms.

 

The term “Super Spreader” was used by South Korean medical officers to describe a patient who refused to be tested for COVID-19, despite having shown symptoms. The patient was allegedly responsible for a recent surge in the number of COVID-19 infections.

Still short of what most wanted to hear, e.g. close off the borders for at least a couple of weeks, then see, apply same if numbers increase for a further two weeks. SAD ! 

There have been hundreds of potential super spreaders here and more continue to come as flights from China continue.

The coronavirus will obey Thai laws just as well as Thais do.

As there's only been 37 cases in Thailand, these 'super spreaders' clearly aren't very good at it.

It was quite hot this arvo when I was in the garden I got a ferocious sweat up and was seriously coughing. I knew it was too much sun and too many Wonder Deng’s but missus thought it could be Coronavirus as she observed a few Chinese in Big C Nong Khai yesterday.

There are only 37 cases so why all the Yahoo.

Thailand government got it under control.

Oh an pigs will fly.

You think that's funny? The COVID-19 outbreak in Daegu Korea has 450 confirmed cases that are now being traced back to one 61-year old woman "super spreader".
