Grab driver vigilante

Featured Replies

I'm sure most of you have seen the video of the grab driver assaulted by cab drivers a few days back in Bangkok.

Safe to say this guy is upping his personal security.

Good for him.  Curious to see how this plays out in the next few days

Can someone post a link to the original video of the grab driver/rider getting "confronted" by Thai media?

Grab motorbike too scared to pick up customers sometimes if they see the orange jacket mafia nearby your pick up point! The irony is that any motorbike taxi driver can work for grab also ! But many don't want because they can't gauge customers with their scam prices when it's fixed price. Particularly on longer trips Grab far cheaper !

It seems the official motorcycle taxi riders have to pay lots of money to be able to work. And it seems the amount depends on the location.

It shouldn't surprise anybody that they don't like it when others, who didn't have to pay, take away their business.

Obviously that should be no reason to beat anybody up. But it seems this situation need some regulation to make it fair for all concerned.

If they don't like it, surely they have the option of changing to being a Grab driver and not paying out all that money?

Maybe they like to work always in the same place with friends together.

It should be their choice. And it should be fair for everybody.

A friend of our applied to be a Grab Driver, she was told there was a monthly fee to Grab, a fee per passenger plus a monthly fee that was required by the local police.

I don't think even Grab can cicumnavigate the hands in the trough.

So then if the police (gov't) are getting their cut, then why are the non-grab drivers not under their protection.
