Bad news for fun people.

”Wan Lai” water playing are cancelled in Khon Kaen city, Kao San Road Bangkok and Bang Saen Chonburi already because the coronavirus problem.

I think more orbortors will do the same now and cancel.

Surely I read recently that it was going ahead.

More places to follow I guess.

Does this just apply to organised events?

If the intention is to stop all the spontaneous water fights in the streets and from the beds of pick-up trucks, I have a very strong feeling that the Thai people will defy these orders.

But there are only 40+ cases in the country er right?

Whatever the reason or motive , it was a good decision and I do hope, enforced.  Drought was reason enough, but good news is good news.

Yes.

The orbortor will not sponsor now, give the water trucks, etc

Known cases.  But unless you test everybody, you have no idea how many people  have or carry the virus.  Millions probably had it, many got a runny nose, went to bed and felt fine the following day.  The statistics are useless and only report known cases

I think so far China has done a pretty good job in containing the virus, but they didn't go over the top quarantining complete provinces in the early stages without knowing what is really going on.

In my opinion, you ain't seen nothing yet.

Well wouldn't that bring a tear to a glass eye! ????

Do you think a bottle of Johnny Black will change his mind?

It seems like I'm part of the minority on this forum who enjoy songkran. I would not mind skipping this year but I don't think my familly will!

They are turning off the city water where i live because of the drought ,we have only just got a trickle back where i live about 1.5 km out of town due to drought,we only get that for a few hours morning and evening, the last 3 weeks nothing had to call water trucks. Of course a lot of people have bores so rather than thinking lets save our bore water knowing Thai's they will happily use it and literally throw part of their supply down the drain. To be honest i couldnt give a fig as i stay in for 4/5 days over Songkran anyway.
