Featured Replies

What pills have people bought in case they come down with a dose? might be a good idea if you are an older male with other illnesses. This is what I bought, of course there are a few expensive anti virals they use in HIV treatment and tamiflu, but i'm not wasting money as not that bothered about snuffing it ????

Chloroquinine phosphate

Vit C 1000mg

Melatonin

fah talai jone

tramodol

Important is that nobody else gets infected. Another part is that the sick person must have access to healthy food. ( You are what you eat!)   That doesn't work when on a noodle soup per day

I have read that fever and runny nose is common,  so maybe just take some paracetamol or ibuprofen.  Lots of ways to treat a runny nose if it really becomes bothersome.

From a Chinese study they found only 4% experienced a runny nose.

You can find the link to this study and more here: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/coronavirus-symptoms/

Some warning about ibuprofen. I was wondering why it was not common in Thailand vs paracetamol and found that it's dangerous when having dengue fever. Since dengue symptoms can be confused with a flu it makes sense to not use ibuprofen.

If you have someone in your care that is suspected to have COVID-19 please contact healthcare provider nearby. DO NOT TREAT THEM AT HOME.

Chinese are at the cutting edge of treating it and they have positive things to say about it's anti viral properties, plus of course it's only 2 baht a pill!

That doesn't work when on a noodle soup per day. Your immune system has to be on top to be able to fight the virus. Less medication is much better than an overdose of potentially "good medicine."

As always, to sleep is the best medicine of all. Rest a lot, eat good food, stay away from pollution, as that would only make things worse.

One very important part is our psychological well being.

If people are not aware that it's not very dangerous to younger people with a healthy immune system, just treat it as you had a flu.

Short after some students at our school seemed to have the virus from a trip to Korea, I became sick. I had fever and all symptoms, you read about the virus.

But my self medication with healthy food and a lot of rest worked out well. Positive thinking is also part of a good healing process.

If you tell yourself a hundred times a day that you have the C virus, you might get it, or at least develop way more symptoms that are severe than somebody who doesn't see all negatively.

Our brains are more powerful than many people might think. Don't give up, it's just a virus that usually doesn't kill you.

The "ordinary flu" has killed so many people in the US. The death toll from Oct. 2019 through Feb. 1, could be as high as 30,000 people!!!

Flu season is hitting its stride right now in the US. So far, the CDC has estimated (based on weekly influenza surveillance data) that at least 12,000 people have died from influenza between Oct. 1, 2019 through Feb. 1, 2020, and the number of deaths may be as high as 30,000.Feb 11, 2020

A Paracetamol when having a headache is okay. Too many of them are already causing problems.

Fruits, veggies and a healthy environment surrounded by people you like seems to be more efficient than a lot of medicine.

Best of luck to all of us!

Don't forget a copious supply of whiskey as well, Dewars white label I think.

Same treatment as always when infection like this comes my way. (which is not very often)

Ginger, onions and garlic, mixed with plenty of fresh salad. The garlic should be sliced and left in the open for ten minutes to allow the activate ingredients to mix and the oxygen to activate them. (that's an old Chinese belief that modern science has validated)

I was going to say more but @Isaanbiker has covered it all very nicely in post #12 above.

High dose vitamin C helps in resisting viral infections. Don't wait till you are ill. Vitamin C passes through the body quite quickly so you need to take it regularly. Say 3 or 4 times per day. 2 or 3 grams over the day should be enough. In some people it can cause your bowels to flush. Not such a bad thing. Your body will adapt and that will pass. If you do get sick, try increasing the dose. During normal times, 1 gram ( 1000mg) per day should be enough.

Vitamin D induces antiviral gene expression, reduces the viral co-receptor CCR5 on CD4+ T-cells, and promotes an HIV-1-restrictive CD38+HLA-DR+ immunophenotype in in vitro assays, leading to HIV-1 infection inhibition in T cells (109).Mar 12, 2018

Many people are low in vitamin D. During times of disease take 4000 iu daily. Vitamin B3 in the form of niacin is excellent. Some find the niacin flush uncomfortable. If you take 500/1000 mg your face and neck can get really red and hot. It lasts about an hour. It's harmless but you will be photo sensitive for a couple of hours so keep out of the sun

What the difference between vit D and D3?

Take that with paracetamol, and you can kiss your liver goodbye.

Aspirin or paracetamol for fever. An oxygen tank for breathing difficulty. Vaccination for pneumonia. IMO a hospital is not going to do more than that, and one stands a good chance of acquiring something else at a hospital.

Never use paracetamol or aspirin, too weak on their own, ones with tramodol or codeine with paracetamol are better. Keep out of hospital definitely, the bills are enough to make you ill!

I have stocked up on VitC, Zinc in the UK, sure to be in short supply as others do the same, some good products on Amazon

Vit D has also been mentioned

You won't get codeine anywhere else than a hospital pharmacy.

If you need oxygen a hospital will do a great deal more and is where you must be.

But overwhelming majority of people with COVID will not need oxygen.
