The Democrat Party might hold a meeting to discuss its future, party leader Jurin Laksanawisit said. Rumours started doing the rounds after a snapshot of the party’s Line group chat was leaked showing some party members wanting to resign from the coalition government.

Jurin said that the Democrat Party abided by the principle of democracy.

The majority of party members chose to form the coalition government with Phalang Pracharat Party and some disagreed but it also was their right.

In response to a query by reporters, he said that it was possible for the Democrats to discuss the matter of continuing in the government at the party’s meeting.

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, meanwhile, showed no concern about the rumours, saying the Democrat Party could resign from the government if they wanted to.

The government is now facing a crisis of confidence due to the state of the economy and the hoarding of face masks by people associated with the government.

It doesn't matter. Like it or not he's here to stay. Get used to it.

By supporting a non-democratic government

I believe, have for many years, most politicians all around the world are either inept, criminal, unpatriotic or all three.   So, even before I moved to Thailand to live I had em pegged and didn't even know it!  But, and it's a big but, if a movement started and gained strength enough to  overthrow the pretenders...would it be less corrupt?   Or would it maintain the status quo?

Democrats don't have big enough chimichangas to pull out. And they would first need the Junta government to pull their shaft out of the Democrat's rear-end to become detached.

It is embarrassing but the PM shrugs everything off with a smug look... he's stitched up enough people and got them in his back pocket that he's safe!

Exactly. You don't spend 6yrs stacking the deck to worry about what a bunch of spineless rectum eaters do. Also we remember Thaworn Senneam fighting to join the coalition and then got his DTM position. He's not going to give that up no matter how many members vote to leave.

The Prime Minister is not the ultimate power in Thailand....and his military coup replacement is much, much, worse.

Be careful what you wish for.

One finds "farangs" a mere annoyance.

The other hates them with a loathing and a passion.
