Bassosa
We have black counter tops, cheap stuff commonly seen in Thailand, probably best described as "faux granite". The kitchen counter tops are severely stained and I want to clean it up. What's the best way? I was thinking of a bit of buffing and sealing it afterwards. Is that the right way? bankruatsteve
If the counter top is a veneer of something, there's not much you can do. Replace with real granite would be the best option.

On the bright side its also going to impervious so any stains can be lifted, wiped off.

Yes real granite is quite cheap in Thailand compared to the rip off prices in the UK.

I tried to manually polish with a delicate cutting compound for cars but it didn't work. Most of the damage is heat damage.
