Yea, I can just see the tourists getting "happier" and "happier." They will keep this policy in place forever.

and just like that a scapegoat was found..

mr dirty foreigner

expect the figures to blow up in Thailand over the next few days

Why are foreigners (particularly westerners) still visiting this racist country? Didn't they get the message? Wait for this crisis to end and Vietnam Airlines taking over from THAI's dominance and there will be few people left coming to Thailand, other than a few backpackers who will use it mainly as a transit point, since Thailand's geographical position makes it almost necessary to pass through, if you're wanting to travel between say Myanmar and Laos/Cambodia. Once the Lao-Burmese border checkpoint opens to travelers, this may change though.

Just now, Eindhoven said:

Now you can see how truly ignorant...and that includes their advisers.

Greedy, stupid and ignorant.

And unlogical and horseeyesflaps.

It is riddiculoua in this state of emergency for example the italians who already has extended their tourist visa need to get a letter from their embassy that their country is closed.

They should get a pardon free at cost to have their tourist visa extended again as long as the virus is going on.

How exactly are locals tracked?

Know your place, ya dirty falangs. With enough propaganda you’ll start getting random beatings on the street like the Chinese are getting around the world.

maybe because of this:

Quote

“You are at risk of being put into quarantine or instructed to self-isolate for 14 days even after you have arrived in Vietnam if you either develop flu-like symptoms, or it is suspected you have been in contact with some who has tested for coronavirus. There are also increased restrictions on British nationals wishing to visit Vietnam.

“From 12 March, Vietnam has suspended its visa waiver programme for British nationals. There are reports that e-visas have also been suspended and the Vietnamese embassy in London will not be processing visa applications until further notice.

“The Vietnamese embassy in London say that it is possible to get a visa, but there is uncertainty around the replacement process and timeline for such applications.”

The statement added that British citizens are “strongly advised” to familiarise themselves with these risks before travelling.

So far, 10 British citizens are among those who have tested positive for the virus.

"High risk countries" the Government says. Thailand is itself a high-risk country as far as the rest of the world is concerned. This is why tourist numbers are down massively. Are they too stupid to know this? I suspect that there are more infected people in Thailand than they are prepared to admit or just have not tested enough people.
