The resignation of the director of Suvarnabhumi airport because the latest situation to be turned on its head yesterday.

As Thailand failed to make up its mind on several issues and chopped and changed policy, Sutheerawat Suwannawat did an about turn on his resignation.

Now the director who criticised the AOT for its policies at the airport in relation to the Covid-19 outbreak response has decided to take a week off from all the stress.

Then he said he would return to carry on the fight.

His boss Nitinai Sirismatthakorn, Airports of Thailand chief, said that he had tried to persuade the director to reconsider.

Anyhow, the decision to resign couldn't be ratified until mid-April so he was more than welcome to remove his wish to resign and carry on his work.

Sutheerawat had resigned amid the bungling of the return of dozens of illegal workers from South Korea who slipped through the net at the airport.

Nitinai told Daily News that more precise regulations were being prepared for a handbook that would be issued to all airport staff in how to manage the coronavirus crisis.

In this regard it looks as though the director's threat of resignation has achieved at least one objective, notes Thaivisa.

Other flip-flops recently have included confusion over visa on arrival leaving many people perplexed about Thailand's response to the crisis that is now a massive global issue.

The city of Bangkok and Thailand government should be responsible for the 80 getting away.  They knew they were coming.  I would bet most of the 80 have some kind of legal problems

I wonder whether half of them can even read. Or would actually bother to read.

Thai Baroque rules as always: Inability to make or do anything simple, clear, direct, precise.

Vagueness & complexity for ever!
