Thailand's export figure remains at 12.5%

Commerce Minister Krirkkrai Jiraphaet (เกริกไกร จีระแพทย์) affirms export figure remains at 12.5 percent, adding that Thailand gains trade surplus of the export in the first two months estimated at 2 US billion dollars.

Mr. Krirkkrai says the export grew by 18.4 percent in February, and its value is 11,230,000,000 US dollars. As for the first two months (January-February), the total export value was 21,700,000,000 US dollars. At the same time, the amount of import in the first two months decreased by 7 percent.

In February, Thailand gained trade surplus at 1,120,000,000 US dollars, leading the 2 US billion dollars of total surplus in the first two months.

Thailand reportedly was facing deficit about 780 US million dollars in the same period of the previous year.
