Toyota offers sterilisation service for cars of all brands

Toyota Motor Thailand has introduced a sterilising service for cars of all brands, as a way to deal with the Covid-19 situation.

The service is free of charge, and customers can call 471 service centres nationwide to receive the service during March 25 to April 30.

“Also, the corporation has issued health measures to reduce customers’ concerns about infections from showrooms,” Surasak Suthongwan, the executive vice president, said.

The measures include providing alcohol-based sanitisers, sterilising of touch points, and cleaning of new cars. “Even sample cars displayed in our showrooms will be cleaned and the antiseptic we use in the new cars will not affect the parts or the drivers,” he added.

Nice to see its "Free of charge" ! and not being used as a gimmick to make money, Kudos to Toyota for that.

I would not own a Chinese MG for starters, but the starters should take over from Toyota....

That's reassuring to know!  The last thing that I would want is for my "parts" to be affected! ????

I just realised that I misread the quote! I thought it said "parts of the drivers"! Should have gone to specsavers. ????

They want you to go there and mention their showroom cars being sterilized.  Encouraging car shopping when staying home and distancing is the general recommendation.

Seems irresponsible.

I bet car sales are close to zero now anyway.

If I was in the market for a new pickup the  Expander is higher on my list than the outdated Tojo offering.

Why would you buy a Mitsubishi SUV if you were in the market for a pickup?

Chev has already sterilised their herd...

- no more will be bred

wait to hear the Muscle Cars and RAMs squeal!

I initially thought it was a joint cooperation with the soi dog foundation.

I don't doubt that for one minute.....????

Extender kinda reminds me of, and rhymes with Elvis' song: Return to Sender

But I guess as a basic body on frame vehicle there is not much to screw up?

Is that like a Vasectomy for a Vios ..

The negative nabobs chime in for any reason. Certainly a boon for humanity if they stay home.

Eh....?

I haven't got around to cleaning my car this year! ????

Think I will pass on this offer though ????

They are not "encouraging car shopping", that was just you saying that.

Toyota is encouraging free car sterilisation.  Hard to see how that is irresponsible as they are not opening their service centres for that sole purpose.  Seems a pretty good idea to me.

Bit like all the other pickups available here, then.
