Curative treatments in Thailand like HYRDOCHLOROQUINE/ ZITHROMAX

Featured Replies

So by now anyone watching the news is familiar with HYRDOCHLOROQUINE/ZITHROMAX and remdesivir as possible Covid-19 treatments. With HYRDOCHLOROQUINE/ZITHROMAX not requiring clinical trials to prove safety... though dosage must be carefully monitored.

What is Thailand doing to obtain these drugs? Are they actively using and testing them here? Seems pretty obvious to me the current baby step quarantine measures may draw this out a long, long time and a vaccine could be a year away. But curative drugs as mentioned could turn the tide much sooner. I hear daily news about these drugs being tested in other countries but nothing from Thailand yet? Thailand has it's flaws but I'd say healthcare is one of it's strength relative to its peers. Any news about this?

There is no evidence that these drugs work. None.

There is also the potential that the drug could do harm when used for other than its target condition. Why should Thailand chase something that  isn't proven useful?

Because one man is desperately trying to find something to calm a terrified public does not mean that it will work.

These drugs have been used in hospitals when symptoms get to a certain stage, not by expats in condos

In the French paper severe pneumonia and periods of six days were mentioned. This is not for prevention, it is another treatment option when things are bad. Don't DIY unless there's no other option.
