Add Carabao’s manager has come out to say the popular singer is depressed and is sorry for cursing Mae Sot officials for stopping his concert, after a video of his criticism went viral and netizens attacked him for being irresponsible.

The case occurred on March 18, when popular rock band Carabao was staging a concert at a restaurant near the Mae Sot municipal office, with tickets, food and drink being on sale. This led Mae Sot Mayor Terdkiat Chinsornan to file a complaint with police, asking them to stop the band from performing as it “created a loud noise in public” and went against a government rule prohibiting any large gathering.

The police stepped in and fined the organiser for not seeking permission to hold the public event, which started at 8.30pm, and the show was stopped at 10pm after district officials phoned the band to halt the concert. This was when lead singer Add Carabao got worked up and started to criticise the government’s Covid-19 prevention measures and cursed officials.

He said that there was no measure by the government to stop concerts nationwide, receiving big cheers from customers in the restaurant. One customer uploaded a video of him criticising the government about the shutdown and mocking local officials, while saying he was the boss on this stage and nobody could order him to do anything.

Netizens attacked him for being irresponsibile after the video went viral.

Carabaos band manager Chumpon later explained that all concert schedules had actually been cancelled. However, on March 18, the owner of the restaurant said he had sold many tickets and asked the band to play as per schedule, so the band went ahead with the concert.

This pretty much sums up the Thai public's inability to follow rules and why Thailand is in for a really hard time. China - people follow instructions. UK - people follow the law. Thailand - people follow the free/cheap beer and good times. Usually it's who you know in Thailand and the laws don't matter, Corona knows no older brother who works for such and such.

In the town where I live the most Thais and foreigners are very aware and take distance, follow the rules, closing their shops, don't sit together, wearing masks and keep them self inside as much as possible. But I think it depends where you are right now and how many people are living in a town/city.

I also saw a Thai washing her hands for around 20sec. before she handed me out my take aways.

Good to hear, you obviously don't live in Chiang Rai (Add Carabao) or Bangkok (Thai boxing Stadium) or ...or... or.... The point I'm making is that given strict instructions to stay indoors Thais will choose the Sabai Sabai over pretty much anything. Wearing of safety helmets another fine example. Glad to know your area is following the rules

Carabao; sings about being poor and is worth countless millions

Isaan's version of Bruce Springsteen.

The name of his group is pure invention; it's merchandising.
The guy who sings for the poor is Sek Loso

Another candidate for attitude adjustment, along with the restaurant owner for pressing ahead with the concert as he didn't want to have to refund anyone!

Typical Thai behavior it’s all about me me me these people don’t give a <deleted> about anyone else but themselves.  I’ve never lived anywhere where the population has no regard for the law or the well being of themselves or others.

I can understand the reasoning behind the danger of contamination but “created a loud noise in public” has got me puzzled. Isn't that pretty normal here?

Any examples of his songs for the poor? he's a known hard drug user and wife beater not a very attractive guy. Last time he turned up on stage I went to do the shopping, a one hit wonder in my book.

I don't understand how one can be a fan of a popular singer who constantly denigrates the farang in his songs.

Denigration is a typical example of an inferiority complex, and by singing this complex Mr. Carabao gathers around himself all the Thai like him.
