Driving Khon Kaen to Pathum Thani - checkpoints

Hi all - hopefully a simple one!

 

My girlfriend (Thai) is looking to drive back to Pathum Thani (just North of Bangkok) from Khon Kaen with her son and mother.

 

It sounds like these police/army checkpoints between provinces just check temperature and whether your reason for traveling is 'reasonable'?

 

Any reason to doubt she would be allowed to drive back to Pathum Thani?

Regardless of where home is or the ultimate destination, she must advise the puyai bahn or the equivalent of their departure/arrival at each end of any trips.

I guess, greater interest in people arriving, rather than those leaving ????
