Popular Post rooster59 Posted April 11, 2020 Popular Post Posted April 11, 2020 IT crime taskforce looking into negative social media posts on cash handout scheme By THE NATION Five negative posts on social media about the government’s cash-handout programme have been forwarded to Thailand's Action Taskforce for Information Technology Crime Suppression, Ministry of Finance spokesperson Lavaron Sangsnit said. He said the ministries of Finance as well as Digital Economy and Society had jointly made the decision. The government has launched a cash-hand programme to help citizens nationwide who have been impacted by the Covid-19 crisis. The citizens must register by filling their name and other personal information in the online form, and the government informs them later whether they are eligible to receive Bt5,000 for six months or not. It was found that some people had posted negative comments on social media and roused the interest of other netizens. The ministries found after investigation that the five posts were by those who had filled wrong information in the online form, or by those who had received the Bt5,000 and posted improper content or opinions on social media. Popular Post ThreeEyedRaven Posted April 11, 2020 Popular Post Posted April 11, 2020 Let me get this right. They rejected millions of claims and yet have only managed to find five negative comments about the scheme? And those had either only been spotted by making errors in their application or making a comment after being super lucky? The Thais I have spoken with recently didn't seem very impressed at all, so I suspect there are a fair few more negative ones out there if they care to look. 5
Eibot Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 Incredible effort to not help people out. Meanwhile I have been given the in laws money. All of them had legitimate jobs and lost them. Obviously all got refused with the same vague reason. 1
The Barmbeker Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 I am supporting the family of my ex- girlfriend. Both parents of a 1 year old child, lost their jobs and didn't see 1 baht of government help! Yes...I am a dirty farang, not wearing a mask for the longest time, so I guess, I was responsible for their lot in the first place! 2

He’s a good bloke and his Thai family are now relying on him heavily. He has to do his marriage extension in a few months. Wonder if immigration will take this into consideration if he goes under the 400k threshold. As for the negative comments on the government’s handouts, looking to persecute or prosecute people who think little of their government is a very bad idea. This will only get worse and people will only get angrier. 6
worgeordie Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 So you can only speak or write about the good things ???? the Government does, and never speak about the other things ???? that they get up too.is free speech part of the latest Thai constitution or not ? regards worgeordie 2 1
Popular Post colinneil Posted April 11, 2020 Popular Post Posted April 11, 2020 Bloody sad, pity the so-called task force has nothing better to do, than chase after people for saying something negative. 5

Thais in general are excepting farangs giving them stuff without any appreciation. I say save you money. 1

KMartinHandyman Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 Hopefully my wife has posted a positive spin on the fact that after 10 failed attempts over the course of a week the outcome is a declined message stating the last four digits of her identification are not accurate. It doesn’t matter what combination of maiden or married name the results are the same. After the coup and at election time she approved of the little guy. Now she’s finished with him because his helicopter money over the years has never landed in her pocket and I think the six months extension of ฿5k for the lucky few was the last straw. None of the expense and hoops he’s put me through have phased her. I almost said I told you so,,almost. 1

Something which is not illegal I believe. They're really over-stretching the definition of 'computer crime' here. I hope it backfires on them in a spectacular manner. 2

I am doing this, because me and my ex are still friendly with each other, during our 5 year relationship we trusted each other, she never had a bad word to say about foreigners (unless they deserved it) and she and her family were always fair and nice to me! Both of them are very thankful! You live in a very sad world! 3 1

robertson468 Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 (edited) I had thought that the idea of a Democratic Government is that if they are doing good, you can praise them, on the other hand, as can happen, if they are making a nonesense of things, then rightly people (and the media) are at liberty to criticise them. In truely Democratic Counties this would not be considered a crime. Edited April 11, 2020 by robertson468
trainman34014 Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 Looks like the 'Attitude Adjustment' dep't are going to be busy again. Getting more like Big Brother China every day ! 2

BobbyL Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 Freedom of speech, something that is sadly lacking in this place. 1
scubascuba3 Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 Every day i see free food being given out by people wanting to help, mostly Thais but I've seen farang giving out food. Is the govt giving out free food? 1
ben2talk Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 ROFL they're just too busy. Look at this - Ramithibodi, where there are tons of COVID patients, cancel appointments, they said they'll do video... Then they say 'forget the video, we'll just send the meds'. Then they say 'oh, we wrote the address wrong'. Then we said 'oh, just one small error - the address is.......' But they can't handle that. They can't change an address. They can't write down the correct address... Then they say 'You must come into the hospital and re-register, which took a full day last time...'. Negative social media? Totally out of order 5555555555 Pricks.

Must stay within the bounds of Asia, imitating Europeans just isn't on, despite the obvious imitations they've already made, we'll just forget about those eh? 1

And - if I understand it right - now given a chance to come up again with proper data. Thai government is obviously adjusting the procedures, that's all. They should publish them though (in details) and then be open for advices.
Grumpy John Posted April 12, 2020 Posted April 12, 2020 Crikey mate, I hope they can't read my thoughts otherwise I would be in real trouble! ???? 1
