Employees at Foodpanda raised funds on Monday (April 13) to purchase basic necessities for Urai Boontaeng, a 30-year-old pregnant Krabi native who lives in Muang district’s Krabi Noi sub-district.

Urai said she worked at a department store in Krabi Noi and had taken maternity leave before her workplace was temporarily shut down due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

“My husband was drafted into military service in Nakhon Si Thammarat, and I was left alone,” she said. “I’m eight months into my pregnancy and delivery is expected next month.”

She added that she cannot return to her parents’ house in Phuket because of the lockdown.

“I have to stay in my rented room alone and have spent all my savings. Therefore, I called my friends and Foodpanda for help,” she said.

Ekaphoong Kongpan, the captain at Foodpanda Krabi, said that once he was informed of Urai’s case, he consulted with the manager and his friends.

“We decided to raise funds to buy essential goods and food for her,” he said. “It took only an hour to deliver the donations to her.”

we do need some good news once in a while, good job FoodPanda, keep it up

Of course when there is a good news, usual people that talk trash about Thailand don't show up. All they want to read is bad news so they can do their trash talk to get more likes

Really nice to see these people step up and help out... Sadly there are many more in the same boat... Great job food panda!!!!!
