I received a relief package from my parents ????

While an order i placed in Germany that went through DHL was cancelled as they could not deliver to Thailand.

Strange that there is such a difference

How long did it take?

Cheese must be well ripe now

Does anyone have an update on the airmail situation?

The cheese was vacuum sealed so no problem at all, it took bit under 2 weeks. So i assume its airmail from the Netherlands.

The Germany parcel from ebay was picked up by DHL and then delivered back to the vendor. Both were send around the same time with 2-3 days difference.

Strange

Ganja?

No just cheese and the German package was a high end computer speaker set.

I had a package from Netherlands, took 9 days from A to B

Spoke to Thaipost yesterday no change on current info, and no change officially on the horizon, but possibly when the current lockdown end on 30th was the local feeling.

Been waiting for two packages from France post La Poste registered mail for 6 weeks now, tracking seems to stop working after leaving France, no more information is forthcoming from La Poste, more like La Crapte to me )...

Let's hope the situation eases soon.

Even in the time of internet/email there is still the need to send original documents.

E.g. proof of life for pension.

I will soon want to close a bank account in Germany and this requires written form and signed.

Even worse the other way round if important mail from home country is stuck.

I am holding off ordering abroad now. Unless in the Netherlands but i don't see the point right now.

Well the couriers are still operating although that could be costly.

The real courier services still work most places. But German DHL is not neccesary a courier service. The also do normal parcels and that should be stopped. Same about letters.

The normal packages go via passager planes and they are stopped.

I have been waiting for a letter from the Netherlands for 3 weeks now.

I need to sign it and send it back, ended up downloading it and signing it that way.

Went to the post office this morning to send it and i was told ,;only per boat and it can take up to 3 months.

What is a "normal" package?

Hard to figure! ordered from Iherb, they seem to be posting more or less as "normal"? 6 days to Thailand, probably another 6 days before receiving parcel, least its moving.

I wanted to buy something at I herb but was worried I could not get it. Seems they still work. Nice to know thanks

@CGW

Yesterday (April 16) a letter from German Post (pension service) was in the box.

Letter dated March 22. Longer than usual (7 to 10 days).

Obviously sent by postal airmail (LUFTPOST).

Ik ben jaloers ????

Still have a block 'gouda 40+' in the fridge from last year, not as delicious as the Beemster you have there ????

*texting my dad to send some Old Amsterdam as well as a pack of Vlokken for the relief*

  • 2 weeks later...

Today I have received post from Norway, it took one month plus two days, posted on 23March.

I reckon the planes have been grounded in some stop-over European location....with my letter in!

Thank you to all of you who gave me some hope to keep waiting!

Everyday I was watching the postman coming in: nothing for me. Until today!! So happy, guys!

so, do not loose hope....
