Residents of Khon Kaen will face criminal charges if they are caught concealing information about Covid-19 cases or transmission, the governor warned.

Somsak Jungtrakul revealed on Tuesday (April 14) that the province’s communicative disease committee aimed to prosecute those who hide information about cases, thus putting medical personnel in danger.

The provincial legal department was checking to see precisely which crime offenders could be charged with, he added.

Meanwhile, the closing time of convenience stores and similar shops in the northeastern province has been changed from 9pm to 10pm as part of lockdown measures. The shops are permitted to reopen at 4am.

Sale of alcohol is banned until April 30 along with parties and public gatherings. Parks and other public areas in the province are also closed until the end of this month.

another mess - how can someone conceal something they don't know they have

This is exactly why mass testing is so important

Yeah. I have 38 fever today and arm sore around the injection part after I took a vaccine yesterday but... its really unlikely to be covid, no other symptoms. Just an example. Suspect in 2-3 days will be back to normal.

But if I were to be I would have no way to know since I have no coughting and they say covid takes 1-2 weeks to start and I haven’t gone out for a month except yesterday and always with a pm2.5 mask and social distancing whole time I was out to do the vaccine.

I have told my Wife (I’m stuck overseas), if either her or our son fall unwell with mild symptoms to remain at home and only go to a hospital IF symptoms escalate beyond what we would except with a normal fever.

The last think I want her to do is to go to a hospital with a regular cold and inadvertently pick up Covid-19 while there.

Additionally, I wonder at which point patients with Covid-19 will be isolated and receive sub-par treatment and just left to ‘wait it out’.

I suspect the concerns of many may be the potential for poor treatment if they are suspected of having Covid-19.

I’ve heard (unsubstantiated) rumours of Covid-19 victims being holed up in pretty poor quarantine camps in the UAE, of course the UAE controls its information very closely so its likely not much of this gets out. In fact the only thing to get out of the UAE recently was me on a Repatriation flight to the UK (I couldn’t get back into Thailand).

So in these times I very much doubt anyone is willing to tell the Authorities of countries run by totalitarian governments that they may have a threatening illness, governments such as these don’t easily lend themselves to being trusted by the general population and most certainly do not have peoples interests at heart.

I'm quite certain I contracted C19 almost five weeks ago.  Two days of aching thigh muscles only to be replaced on day three with mild cold symptoms, graduating within a further few days to the worst hacking cough I've ever experienced.  Strange thing was I'd only cough twice a day for twenty seconds at most and that lasted about four or five days, thereafter to maintain the mild cold symptoms.

Even now I'm not fully over it but been working from home since four weeks today.  In my experience, this was far milder than the common cold, but then again I'm not at risk.

Without knowing the wording of any such law, I would guess it is aimed at persons that deliberately withhold information such as the man who returned from Hokkaido and infected the entire BCare staff, or someone who is specifically asked if the attended any muay Thai matches, or someone in contact with someone who displays symptoms and they are asked of their whereabouts in the last few weeks.
