A serious question because I'm quite afraid that it might spread like the before mask-is-not-necessary rule. We knew how this current pandemic started and where it is unbelievably getting worse. Maybe through the comments, people could figure out how others from the first-world are so learned by now and in the years to come.

In all fairness on the previous mask debate where we now know we all DO need to wear masks a big reason that changed is that we didn't know before that the virus spread via very small droplets. In other words -- airborne even from just speech and breathing. People can say we should have known but now we do.

I still think it’s about your governments. People tend to believe in something official, until it’s too late. So, that begs the question of taking action based on experience. Should some authorities support the Michigan protesters, would you, even slightly, put credence in it? Or, would you rather do something right after weighing things and disregarding your comfort zones. I believe the world could know because, after all, First World is a big term; and, honestly, I am beginning to think it is just a promotional word. Dictionaries must consider to, at least, modify—if not strike out that word completely as what this current crisis showed.
