Mail During Lockdown

Featured Replies

Anybody know what the typical range of time for delivery of mail from other parts of Thailand (or Europe/US) to Phuket is these days?

Thanks

So far mail still coming through, and it seems to be same timeschedule as always.

Domestic mail services seem to be unaffected.

Its International services that are experiencing delays and disruption due to flight cancellations etc.

I can confirm domestic mailing is working with same time frames as usual.
No clue about international.

Today I have received post from Norway, it took one month plus two days, posted on 23March.

I reckong the planes have been grounded in some stop-over European location....with my letter in!

Thank you to all of you who gave me some hope to keep waiting!

Everyday I was watching the postman coming in: nothing for me. Until today!! So happy!

As others have said, domestic mail is fine. I ordered something from the mainland that arrived in three days. It's been three weeks for a parcel from the UK, which is normally supposed to arrive in 5-7 working days. I assumed it would take longer than that, but I'm hoping it's not longer than a month, as I might leave my apartment in early May... but I may not leave my apartment. I decided not to forward something from the US, as it seemed unlikely to arrive anywhere close to schedule.

I noted our postman came into our street 3 or 4 times yesterday.

I can't help think that it has to be more efficient to make less trips and deliver more than one letter at a time.

The electric bill delivery man seems to have exemption from roadblocks. Billing must be an essential service.

I don't know about the mail but my electricity bill just came. Talk about a blow out.

1100 more units used apparently. ????

I haven't received any mail in the 8 years I've been in Phuket. Never even crossed my mind to send or receive mail here as I assumed it would be futile exercise.
