Krabi has two additional cases of Covid-19 infections -- an American tourist, aged 49, and his Thai wife, aged 33, provincial governor Lt-Colonel ML Kitibadee Prawit said on Saturday (April 18).

Authorities are investigating the timeline of the couple's travel.

The province currently has 18 confirmed cases, of which 10 have recovered, and the rest are undergoing treatment in hospitals.

He added that he had ordered the local officials to stringently continue the preventive measures.

Thailand’s total number of Covid-19 patients rose to 2,733 with 33 new cases confirmed over a 24-hour period, and no deaths, Dr Taweesin Visanuyothin, spokesman of the government's Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration, said on Saturday.
