All deckchairs removed from Jomtien Beach

Featured Replies

Over the last week I've noticed a steady stream of deck chair vendors arriving to take home all their deck chairs, tables, umbrellas, cool boxes and everything else from Jomtien Beach. I've not been up to Dongtan Beach or into Pattaya, but as this could only have been ordered by City Hall I'm assuming they're the same. I'm sure a lot of people will say that it looks wonderfully clean and uncluttered now (and to be fair, it does, as long as you don't look at all the plastic rubbish floating in the sea), but I enjoy spending an hour lounging in a shady deck chair supping a cold beer. If things are going to start reopening next month then it's evidently not going to include the deck chair vendors. I'm guessing they must be classified in the same category as plague pits, charnel houses, bars and restaurants. Does anybody know anything more about the future of the deck chairs on the beaches?

There was a story about it, apparently people were trying to break in and steal the deckchairs alcohol supplies in coolboxes, so based on that they all had to remove everything. Daft i know like many decisions

Thanks, I missed that story. Unusual as there's not much left to do these days but peruse the online media. Oh well, at least it's not something sinister, like preparing to start up again only after the rainy season has been and gone.
