Ministry cuts price of 3,025 household goods to reduce living costs

The Commerce Ministry is reducing the cost of household goods as the Covid-19 crisis shrinks the spending power of people across the country.

 

Minister Jurin Laksanawisit said 3,025 consumer products have now been discounted by up to 68 per cent.

 

The previous discounts, on April 16, covered only 72 products, while the scale of these price reductions was unprecedented, he added.

 

The cheaper goods will be available until June 30.

 

Companies who are collaborating in the discounts include 18 brands of rice, 20 consumer product manufacturers, and 13 shopping malls.

 

“I would like to thank the private firms who have cooperated with the Commerce Ministry. The Department of Internal Trade estimates that both discounts, starting from April 16 to June 30, will cut a total of Bt1 billion off the cost of living for Thai people,” Jurin said.

Have these price cuts been made exclusively to alcoholic beverages? Because I haven't noticed anything in my big weekly shop that's come down in price.

Thank you for neither mentioning which goods are included nor which malls or store chains carry these promotions.

 

It's a bit like reporting "10 oil companies have slashed their gas prices" without telling the consumer their names.

The companies consist of Big C, Macro, Food Land, CJ express, Swensens, CP All, The Mall, Maxvalue, Tops, Gourment Market, Home Fresh Mart and Family Mart.

All it means is the big boy sellers will make more money by not passing on discounts!! TIT!!! ????????????????????????????????
