Changing Baht In Singapore

Featured Replies

Hi, I will be headed back to the UK for a few weeks in a couple of months.

Probably by way of Singapore.

Was thinking if it is possible to change my spare Baht directly to Sterling in Singapore.

Anyone know if this is possible, good place to change?

The offshore rate seems to show(to me!) that it costs fewer Bht to buy foreign currency but I'm not surehow easy it is.

Pleased to assist. You should get a very good rate as you will be using the baht offshore rate. You will however be going through two currencies...baht to sing dollars to sterling however you are not charged twice the spread so don't worry.

I suggest you visit the Arcade in Raffles Place . There are two change offices in the front but don't change there. Go inside and there are two floors both of which have exchange offices so you can compare rates.

The offshore rate for sterling is 64.36 at present so aim for 66 which should cover the double spread .

In Bangkok currently you would have to pay over 70 for a pound so you will/should get an extra 4 baht per pound.

Please note these are current rates. Heaven knows what the rates will be in a couple of months time !
