Huntsman Belgian Blonde Beer Review

Featured Replies

Who could possibly be the market for this fake craft beer with almost literally no taste?  It's a serious question!  Available now at your local 7-11 for 50 baht.

Well, I guess it would be OK with some very spicy Thai food.

I have tried a few of those wheat beers, and they are all horrible to say it nice.

The worst one, I think, was Snowy Weizen , which smelled AND tasted like dish washing soap

Edit to correct: The dishwashing was the  huntsman, but different from this one.

The Snowy Weizen was consumable, but will never buy it again however I like wheat beers

I know it's not a wheat beer, but the aussies and thais got together to brew an IPA named Chatri...and its damn good beer. The same micro brewery does another called Chalawan which is a bit drier but still worth a mention. Being from the U.S. and a big fan of IPAs...i savour every sip.

A blonde beer is normally NOT a wheat beer.....

Yes I missed that, because the picture in the OP looks like cloudy beer.

This is the same beer pictured on their home page

If they could produce a beer worth drinking, I would consider starting drinking again. So it would seem my liver is safe for at least another 10 years.

I would never drink beer from a can, bottled if I must. Draught for me. Best draught beers avaliable in Thailand - Erdinger and Paulaner weissbiers. Beerfest (T21 and the Avenue) serve a very palatable weissbier brewed in their own microbrewery.

My 711 is now carrying the 490 ml cans of Tiger for 50 THB.  Leo is 52..I don't think a nice cold tiger would be in bad taste anywhere on this planet.  People, who drink craft beers in LOS remind me of people, who hold their fishing pole upside down..something just ain't quite right.  In a perfect world, drafts would be a good thing, but..it requires f and b establishments to be meticulous, and even if you are paying 5 X, they will still find a way to screw it up.  Hard enough to find a place with cold, fresh bottles.

The Huntsman wheat beer was awful, as was Black Dragon. The Snowy Weisen is drinkable at a pinch.

I'll try the so-called Belgian Blonde as I'll give most beers a chance but I'm not hopeful. I don't think I've seen it here in Mae Sot yet.

Guiness is brewing blonde in the US nowadays, I think I will wait and pay 45 THB for one, next time I visit the Units.

This is the Full Moon IPA, yes? I like it too.  The Chalawan is good and they do an Andaman which I have in the fridge to try.

Yes the Full Moon brewery. The Andaman is a little plain but good as a 'session' beer. Give the Chatri a go!

I've tried the Chalri; nice too. I'll try the Andaman soon. They aren't a bad price for what they are.

Tiger sell a wheat beer, but not in Thailand. I've supped it in Malaysia and Singapore and it's not bad.

I used to drink Red Cheers as the best of a bad lot, but now I like Tapper. Not a wheat beer, either of them, but okay. I find Snowy Weizen okay but have stopped buying it as it makes me want to cry when comparing it to foreign beers. I find Erdinger tasteless and like drinking flavoured water, strange for a German beer, but some like it. To me it's the McDonalds of beers - available everywhere but not that good. When I'm in Bangkok I like to visit Wishbeer, and their 50 percent off draft beers from 5-8 is a good deal and a chance to try different proper beers.

So you don't drink at home. The wife must be happy.

You're welcome to every drop I DON'T buy, mate.

Did you ever try Riceberry? cheers made it, almost up to dark beer lao taste, the best Thai beer I've tasted, but of course they only did a limited run of it and they seem to have stopped brewing it now, the best beer that cheers have ever made and they've stopped it. TIT :crazy::crazy:

I agree with you, it's the only beer I buy, and they haven't stopped brewing it.

Currently all cheers beers have stock issues, probably because they suspended the breweries.

The only beers that get new stock currently, at least at Makro's, are those from Boon Rawd

Here is some secret for you, but don't tell anyone, you can pour a can of beer into a glass

I would rather drink my cats pee pee from the litter box than drink a can of that stuff.

And it still tastes like canned beer.

False. Debunked myth.
