Recommend opinion on foot fracture surgery in Bangkok

Featured Replies

Looking for Doctor/ Hospital in Bangkok to get 3rd opinion on a heel fracture surgery from motor bike accident. Doctor from Bumrungrad says surgery is needed to pin the heel in place, and Doctor from Mission Hospital says not needed.  Looking for a 3rd opinion from Hospital in Bangkok area.

I go to thonburi 2 hospital. Most of the top docs are from siriraj which is the top teaching hospital in bkk.Bumrangrad is a cash cow for medical tourists  where as mission was probably the worst hospital I attended in bkk. Bumrangrad has good docs but you pay double or treble  what you need to.

Which Dr from Bumrungrad?

Dr Thanut Valleenukul.  Seems very good, but have really would like another opinion.

Best foot/ankle specialist in Thailand is  Professor Bavornrit Chuckpaiwong. Harvard-trained.

He can be seen at Siriraj Hospital,  Phyathai 3 Hosp and also at Bumrungrad

I second this.

He can also be seen at Bumrungrad, that's why I asked which doctor.

In this case,  for a 3rd opinion,  I would consult him not at Bumrungrad (loss of face issues). Maybe cheaper that way,  too.

On the other hand there is a convenience factor as Xrays etc will all be online in your records at Bummers.

I don:t think any problem to consult him for a second opinion there.

But of surgery turns out to be needed and npot covered by insurance, woul;d be cheaper to do at Siriraj or Phyathai 3

Thanks for the links. Going to get a opinion at Sirrija.
