A month ago, a tiger in new york got infected with Covid 19.

Now they are infecting hamsters with it to investigate how it spreads betwen them when they are separated by filter material (in order to test efficiency of masks).

House cats have tested positive for it.

But hang on, didnt it take 20 years for infection to spread between bats to humans?

How is it spreading between other animals now?

Perhaps a very stupid questions. But i couldnt find any answers online.

Thanks
