Bangkok-Pattaya Bus: Foreigners Allowed?

Featured Replies

In today's (June 11) THAIGER.Com news online, it was reported that inter-provincial buses run by the "GovernmentTransport Company" were not allowing foreigners to buy tickets or board; only Thai citizens with Thai Id's.  Apparently, private bus companies such as Nahkon Chai Air have no such restriction.

The Bangkok-Pattaya bus is run by Rung Riang Transport but I do not know if considered independent or under contract to the government.

Are there any foreigners reading this who specifically have traveled on the Bangkok-Pattaya bus in the last few days?  Please answer only if you have  direct, personal knowledge of the situation.

I am attending a function in Pattaya on Saturday.  I have a ride back Sat. pm if I want but I was considering staying an extra day to visit friends I haven't seen since lockdown began and returning by bus to Bangkok on Sunday.  Hopefully, someone will have an answer.

Let someone buy a ticket for you at the booth and board the bus.

She did it, Rosa Parks.

Yes, allowed

Yes.

As a follow-up, I was able to buy a ticket for and board the Pattaya to Ekkamai bus Sunday, 14 June.

One passenger allowed per row of 2 seats.

As the OP, I asked a simple question that required only a simple, informed answer, such as the above by "uhuh".

It's unfortunate that the usual roster of malcontents could not resist providing yet another display of their collective ignorance with their entirely predictable blather.
