Last year we took out car insurance with Roojai.

Price was very good, easy to set up,with polite and helpful staff. Great.

Then came renewal this year,

We received an email from Roojai quoting renewal premium 645.21 baht higher than our present class 1 and compulsory ins. premium. We have made no claims.

Wrote back saying we thought we were being charged twice for compulsory ins. Despite numerous phone calls and emails we were unable to resolve this. Only after we wrote to thaivisa and they forwarded our email did we receive a phone call the next day,and were provided with a new quotation.

Our present policy has third party liability cover of 2 million baht, but to continue with this we were told we had to pay an extra 484 baht. We countered that the cost of this was already included in the premium we had paid. Why the increase?

Went to Roojai site and using exact same details got a lower price, but message came up that we were already insured with Roojai.

Despite more phone calls and emails, unable to resolve this.

Finally, sick of the whole business,I phoned the lady dealing with this, and agreed to renew at the quoted price even though this was incorrect.

Has anyone else experienced similar, and what did you do?

Hi there same as you, I joined them last year cheap quote! Good

My email renewal came very early 8 weeks before, premium gone up?

Why no claim, no claims bonus should increase?

I email them back why, up? Not happy! They then sent me back another quote cheaper , by small amount?

I asked them again why premium up?

I am not paying for all the bad drivers claims.

Anyway there renewal says + breakdown cover, I have it now!?

Becareful!

I told them I will renew by c c , they have to phone you to do and arrange a date ok!

But I want make sure includes breakdown cover now!

They tell me they give you free year 1 only, why my premium slightly up now, little bit and not down! You have to pay now for this in year 2?

I guess Thai way again.

Otherwise I am happy with there service, lazy to change

Cheers

How can you be happy with THEIR service if you never made a claim. That's when the fun starts.

Yes, I renewed my insurance this year, it was the same price as last year, despite no claims.

Emailed & called them to discuss it, but they told me:

"Insurance more expensive this year"

Gave up, & paid. They are the cheapest though.

That might be your idea of fun, but I would prefer to carry on claim-free - and Roojai's service in that respect is good.

Anyone had to make a claim that has found otherwise ?

So you are saying Roojai's service is good? They can quote you a premium, take money off your credit card, tell you all the things included in your policy. So can any insurance broker anywhere in the world, that's how they make their money.

But come to an accident/claim......you are dealing with the actual insurance company who DO NOT want to pay out if possible. That's when you find out how good your broker is.

Yes.The breakdown cover is free for first year. After that the cost is 280 baht. No problem with that.

What bugs me is that if you go to their website for a quote, and put in exactly the same cover and personal details (except birth date, otherwise the price given to you comes up) the quote comes up cheaper.

It seems a new customer will get a better price than an existing customer who has made no claims!

is that how you communicate with most Thai companies and personal.

Answer    I try not to deal with them and if they try it on I say to my self f u and I move on to another supplier.

I have had car insurance with Axa for 9 years and had no problems had 3 smaller claims all fixed up with no sweat.

I also have AXA UK Health cover taken out over here in Thailand so far no claim and I am more than happy that I am not having a claim age 73.

I also worked for AXA for 28 years when living in N.Z. which helps. I have a AXA Personal pension its been paying out fully for the last 11 years it breaks even that means I have got all my money back that I put into it just b4 my 75th birthday after that it is all there money I am getting paid by. I hope to live to my dads age of 100 but 85 will do ????

From the time that I got my first e mail from Roojai, two months in advance of my renewal date, telling me that my insurance renewal was coming up, the price of renewal dropped 1,600 Baht in two months.  I just ignored each reminder, 4 in all and by the time that the insurance was actually due, the premium had reduced to 500 Baht cheaper than the year before, 6,800 Baht for all inclusive, plus roadside assistance and compulsory cover, including a 10% discount for having dash cams fitted, front and back. They just play games, like all insurance companies.  As an aside, I did check AxA and as usual with that lot, it was much more expensive, for a reduced cover.

All things being equal, take three quotes for the same level of cover and then take the cheapest is the usual way that thinking people do business and buy services, Thai, Farang or Martian.

I just changed to Roojai and i must say the process for insuring with them was good, At renewal Roojai can charge what they like, it is then my choice to continue with them or not. If their rates are too high i will move to another company. I guess maybe my first year rate was low to attract new customers (loss leader etc). No need to get stroppy with them, a simple choice, accept their terms or not.

Been with Roojai for the past two years,no problems and good service so far... much cheaper than most of the others...of course with all insurance companies you find out how good they are when you need to claim... here's hoping that won't happen..????

On my second year with roojai with the online re-signing being even easier than the initial application. The annual cost went up 501 baht (no claims) but the vehicle replacement value (fire and theft) went up. My truck is a year older but worth 41,000 baht more as a write-off. That was the reason I went with roojai in the first place as their replacement value quote was higher than Liberty or AXA.
