Prawit takes over as new Palang Pracharat leader By THE NATION Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan was officially handed over the post of core coalition party Palang Pracharat’s leader on Monday (June 22). Government chief whip Wirat Rattanaset, who is also Palang Pracharat member, said the party executives visited the general in person to hand him the new position, instead of having him come to the party headquarters on Tuesday. The executives who visited Prawit on Monday included Industry Minister Suriya Juangroongruangkit, Justice Minister Somsak Thepsutin, Deputy Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Thammanat Prompow and Education Minister Nattapol Teepsuwan.
