People complain about the economy. Then wear a mask and the economy can kick into gear sooner.

Dont wear masks and economy suffers longer. More die.

Science, the issue for imbeciles.

Thats, well, interesting.

You do know its not finished yet. Im not so sure you will be so ambivalent if one of yours dies simply because you didnt wear a mask.

Is it really that hard to comprehend? Wear a mask, think of others.

Everyone has to die one day, that's life. Wearing a mask has little effect on the virus, most transmissions occur at home. Restrictions should be targetted on hotspots not forcing restrictions on everyone. This is just open ended control and no timeframe given to when these restrictions will end.

Why not from now? Or last month? Or the month before? Do they know COVID is not starting in a week and a bit?

And less deaths.

death is inevitable and is the future for everyone. economic collapse and the trashing of the currency is a choice.

Bringing in masks in shops and mooted to be offices soon will lead to more online shopping and more working from home.

Looking at other experiences, this is highly unlikely.

Every country is different, online sales here have overtaken the retail shops.

Which the rise of online sales has been happening for a long time before the virus.

Best just go put yourself in harms way then. Go to a covid party. Its innevitable anyway.

Being told to wear a mask does not trash any economy.

Which had no relevance at all to a measure to come into force on the 24th.

So between now and July 24 how many people will be infected?

What a backwards philosophy of apparent stupitiy and lack of stones.  Seems so childish and weak.

Good luck UK..

And being told to wear a mask is so difficult.

It doesn't make any difference to the economy, it's tanked already. Lifting restrictions in areas that have little or no covid-19 will stimulate the economy.

It depends where they are getting infected, the government have that data and should be putting resources into that. This is not a UK wide problem anymore.

nobody on here has said it does.  Clearly you have difficulty understanding the arguments and opinions that others set down here.

In the last 5 months I've been on the MRT, BTS, Chinatown in BKK for Chinese new year when it was packed with tens of 1000s, on a packed plane with 400 others coming back to the UK, sat in Hyde Park drinking with friends, been on the underground, sat in friends gardens drinking, mixing in pubs again now and countless shops. The only times I wore a mask were on the MRT/BTS and at airports coming back.

As the vast majority of people re use the same mask(s) for weeks, or months, on end and don't bother washing them, goodness only knows what germs and viruses they are harbouring.

you have been lucky until now, but wouldn't push it too far, we never know what's around the corner

Live your life in fear then. I prefer to carry on living and enjoying what's left to enjoy.

Since there is no logic behind them, yes, I do have problems understanding your arguments. It is purely emotional, not logical or reasoned.

I didn't mention fear as it's a word not in my vocabulary... am more a precautionary type person, still enjoying every single day to it's max

Funny all these late mask mandates. Many US states, then Canada, Iran and now the UK all within the past few days/weeks.

Meanwhile, in the Czech Republic, no longer required when outdoors since May 25. In Vietnam, mostly not required in public anymore since May or June (except in a few businesses and to board flights and of course on board).

Many thousands of people have had the virus and didn't know.  It's actually quite likely that many here have already had it if they have travelled or mixed socially with lots of other people.  I know of one person (in their forties) who was fit and healthy and it knocked him for six.  Ended up on a ventilator and although on his way to recovery, it is unlikely he will ever completely recover.  He is back home, (he lives in the same street as me) where he lives with his wife and two young daughters.

You just never know who it is going to attack next and given the thousands who have died of it, a bit of caution is not a bad call.

Then the problem is not with the masks but with the education of how to use them.

Indeed... a lot of those who don’t want to wear mask are using these sorts of arguments ‘live your life in fear’ etc... it has nothing to do with fear and everything to do with 'consideration for others’... Stupid people don’t understand this.

People get flu and colds, we didn't mandate them before. So we might aswell wear masks to stop thoses viruses too, masks forever in public apart from in bars and restaurants.
