Thailand continued to report the fallout from the case of the Egyptian soldier who tested positive for coronavirus but who had visited shopping malls in Rayong.

Manager at the Passione Shopping Destination Patthamaporn Nokhong provided the press with CCTV images of two soldiers passing through screening and moving through the store.

She said they were not holding anything that indicated they had not made any purchases.

The store was closed yesterday afternoon and all staff were checked for coronavirus. It would not reopen until Friday by which time a thorough cleaning will have been undertaken.

Thanaphat Wongprasert, general manager of Central Rayong, said that his store was closed at 8pm yesterday and would remain closed today. It would reopen on Thursday 16th.

What was described as a "Big Cleaning Day" will take place today.

A total of 398 people who were at the Passione center when the soldier visited have been traced using the Thai Chana app.

A mobile testing facility at the center has tested 395 people and  450 people have been tested at Central Rayong.

Three testing vehicles will also undergo cleaning today, reported Sanook.

It would appear that those "made in China" temperature checkers are a complete waste of time, and money. If his temperature was in fact normal, what is the point of checking everyone who goes into a place, when, if anyone who is ever stopped, might just have a slight fever, and nothing at all to do with any virus.

If you're going I'd assume they need to concentrate on the bottom?

One selfish soldier and a whole city suffers. Two schools have been closed. Lots of people looking forward to earning about 300 baht a day won't even get that now. Whilst the reaction by the local authorities is overkill if there was a local outbreak the local governor would lose his job.

Absolutely spot-on ! I ordered one from a well known mail-order source and when the parcel arrived there was nothing in there. An email registering dissatisfaction went unanswered. Great way to boost profits ????
