Yes on all.  Actually the way things are going here in the US, the COVID-19 test 72 hrs before the flight is the hardest part.

You're right, the situation has changed dramatically in the last few weeks.

A universal response now is that it takes 5-10 days to get the result back, at least in So. Cal.

This "Rapid Covid-19 test" is a swab test but it's not as accurate as RT-PCR Covid test. (PCR test is a different, more accurate test but is also a swab test)
Antigen means blood will be drawn and tested.

So, what about this rapid test?

As Wars has mentioned earlier in this thread it is a rapid PCR test.

Good enough for a COE?

My hope is that this jump in testing will subside a bit as it gets closer to Aug. 30th.

I suggest contacting this company in San Diego:

https://www.phamatech.com/index3.php/covid-19-testing/

They immediately understood the specific need for a quick result.

They've advised to contact them prior to scheduling an appointment, so they're aware of the situation.

Then they will make a testing arrangement to conduct the process as quickly and efficiently as possible.

It's a self-paid test - $120

Update on prices...

From LAX:

Cathay Pacific: $988, Business $4050

Korean Air: $1141, Business $3600

Asiana: $1095

Qatar: $878, Business $7929

EVA: $745

JAL: $1000, Business $2500 ("All the price is not included taxes and ticket service fee")

From the website "detection and differentiation of nucleic acid of SARS-CoV-2" so it's basically a faster PCR Covid test and from what I understand it should be acceptable. (I have no training or background in diagnostic testing, but having already made over 100 phone calls to urgent cares, labs, clinics and drive-thru testing sites etc. I feel I am getting quite an education in the available covid tests. LOL)

What part of the country are you in?

Have you found a suitable test facility?

Your experience with trying to get tested in the U.S. matches with what I've been reading in the legit news sources... Depending on the area, even people who CAN get tested are having to wait a week or more for results, which would seem to conflict with the 72 hours prior requirement. And as you said, amid shortages of test supplies and testing capacity, not so easy to even get tested in the first place when the person isn't already sick.

$400, not cheap but it looks like it's legit. Thanks!

More like $475

I'm stuck in Michigan. There are various labs here that do testing here but none offer expedited service. I've begged a few to let me pay for a faster turnaround but there have been no takers.
The only loophole I've found so far is if you can get a physician to write a "doctor's order as STAT" and
then take that to the clinic or lab to get PCR Covid test results within 24 hours. The people who get this service are going in for surgery. (or are pro athletes. LOL) Otherwise I haven't found any outfit that can guarantee results in 24 to 48 hours. Some say they might be able to do it only if there aren't too many people testing. Another problem is that the flight leaves on Sunday or Monday and the lab is closed on the weekend.
