reassigned to a desk job, some hand-waving about a 'panel' , then reinstated after the public attention span wanes; the thai way

And the report is confidential in national security interests.

Yes landing his helicopter at his 3000 sq mt penthouse with five naked girls waiting is stressful.

Repeat for even major city in the the world and don't forget yachts.

Monaco is the place he will be exiled to.

No doubt he will have a life of freedom & luxury somewhere, but I don't think he'll find it here in Thailand, yes the funds from the family empire will make life easy somewhere far from the Bangkok Hilton...

These Professors will make their protest

Nothing will come of it

The normal working Thai  proberly  could not care less

Rich families here in Thailand pull the strings as was already mentioned only the poor go to jail

A group of 32 law professors, at Thailand’s Thammasat University, signed a statement on Monday calling on the Office of the Attorney-General (OAG) and the Royal Thai Police (RTP) to disclose to the public the full details of the legal proceedings in the Red Bull heir’s hit-and-run case, and the reasons why they decided not to prosecute

I guess the government thought they could roll out a government spokesperson in the form of Pol Colonel Kissana (No Double Standards) Phathanacharoen to tell the unwashed masses of commoners and little people that Thai law is too complicated for them to grasp and that their leaders and betters have decided that justice has been served...and now shut up and move along.

However, somewhere there is possibly the seeds of change sprouting green shoots.  The affair is so unconscionable that perhaps it has even rocked those who make their living in the realm of Thai Law.  The sordidness makes a complete mockery of an already questionable system wherein the common-folk already believe that 'double-standards' are the norm - but this ruling regarding a pathetic rich kid who wants people to refer to him as "Boss" who kills a cop and leaves the country to escape prosection only to have all charges either dropped due to statue of limitations (prosecution failed to act), Interpol Red Notices ignored, and then charges simply dropped without explanation?
To coin a WWII metaphor - It's A Bridge Too Far

Will this change anything?  Guess we'll see.

Exactly, even if this is blown away as we expect Mr. Vorayuth Yoovidhya is going to find it hard to return and walk around like normal, he will be vilified everywhere he goes and with everyone he chooses to be with.

The press will hound him forever.

He might have got his name cleared but coming back here to a normal life is going to prove difficult.

If you meet him in the pub, what would you do and say to him?

Questions.

Who were the new witnesses and why did they take 8 years to come forward?

After such a long time, how can any prosecutor of right mind have this considered admissible evidence and their testimony reliable?

How can the prosecution accept that eye witnesses judged the speed of the vehicle correctly at 100km/h less than the forensic team after a thorough investigation?

How did the prosecutors conclude that the witnesses were correct that the Policeman swerved into the path of the oncoming Ferrari when the angle of impact as shown clearly in the photos indicates the Policeman was rear ended?

Why did Boss not stop at the scene of the accident and drive for at least 100m while dragging the Policeman's body with him?

Why did Thong Lor Police allegedly collude with the family to pin the blame on a servant, and why, when this was known, was the case not transferred to a higher investigative authority?

Why is Boss allowed to get away with ignoring a summons eight (8) times?

Why was Boss' last entry into Thailand in July 2017 when there were warrants out for his arrest and why was he not picked up by immigration?

Why, if there was an Interpol notice out for him as Thai authorities claim, was he not then picked up in London by the Met?

I could go on...

You ask too many questions

There must be Millions of Dollars being paid in some High places .

Why ?

The police is Always to be known to look after their Own. No matter what.

Not This time , Why?     Was the Dead cop a Crooked Cop?    Did They Abandon him.

That's not Normal .    Something Strange must have happen.

Would they abandon one of their own for Millions of Dollars?   ????

Maybe that form of social justice  would be the  better? No doubt the family of the Policeman who died will have received substantial financial "compensation" but that does not satisfy the expectations of  "law" or the expectations of the public.

It can only be  hoped that a genuine believable disclosure of what has gone down be made public.

Did these "law professors" just wake up from a 90-year coma?

One would think they would understand the shaky underpinnings of Thai "law"?

oh ... I am sure they know very well the system in Thailand ... But to do anything (even if it is just a small step) you need a catalyst .. a high profile case that 'people can understand' and 'get behind' ...  This case sounds like just the type of case that could do just that

Since so many die on the road every year - so many people have direct experience with this type of incident / 'accident' ...     Why should 'he' get off the hook when 'I' did not  ...

Law Professors? in Thailand, teaching Law? Commenting on Thai Law?  Umm, okay.  I guess that is a bit like being a Professor of Religion; teaching the unbelievable and impossible to the gullible.

Law and implementation of the law are two completely different things ????

Miserable Life

Even his miserable life will be, at least, a 100 times better than millions around the world.

So it's going to be the same route as with election. Pm is going to make a special investigation panel. And so that no1 will doubt it, it will be approved by higher up. And then no1 can complain when they find no errors. Ofcourse all questions will be transfered and answered by this special council and all decisions will be locked for safety reasons

Could be true.

On the other hand I suspect the PM is getting quite nervous about the new younger parties and nervous about the students now conducting their protests and rallies in many locations. In fact he's already said about the students 'they have a right to speak'.

Is all of that perhaps meaning that he would now be somewhat frightened of current public reactions and seriously avoid any attempts by gov't agencies to intimidate the public, by stopping any comments/discussions about the boss case?

Go to prison for chewing yaba kill a policeman and nothing happens . I suppose that’s why they advertise the country as “ Amazing Thailand “ I for one will stop buying RedBull as a form of protest .

Damnit, and here I thought all was above board here in Thailand since they claim that it is a safe and Amazing.

Maybe TAT will arrange for the investigation and inquiry boards to be listed and included on there website as a tour...
