Popular Post yellowboat
The hotels are out of luck for months to come, so they need to try something, but there is faint whiff of governmental opportunism in the air. Pass.
Popular Post CNXexpat
Most of the people they commented above: "I haven´t read the article and the prices of the hotels but I need to write a comment". Yes, if you book a suite in a 5* hotel for one, two or more people you have to pay a lot - also without quarantine. All the prices mentioned above are far below 500k. 9 1

Popular Post JusticeGB
Headline of 500,000 baht very misleading. Most of the listed hotels are under 50,000 baht. 4 1
bermondburi
I don't like it but if things aren't back to normal by December I'm probably going to do it. I'll go for one of the cheaper options. I'm hoping that when so few people take up this offer, some kind of home self-isolation is allowed at some point. I'd quite happily do that.
Burl Ives
So remind me., which hotels are the 100 odd US soldiers staying in and whose paying for them? Ah yes, the Conrad and the Anantara Siam, between 90,000 -144,000 each

Popular Post wmlc
Before judging, consider that these rates include food as well and there are tests and so forth done by the hospitals linked to that hotel to maintain the regulations for the quarantine. I admit that some of the prices are high, but if you look at a 40,000 baht option, that is 2,666 per day for 14 days including 3 meals and medical testing while there. I wood say that’s not a rip off. Even the 45,000 baht is affordable if you break down by dividing by 14, that equals 3750 per day. Well worth it if you need to come back to Thailand to work or see your family if married. Edited August 5, 2020 by wmlc
Jackie66
What is the difference between a 50k hotel and 150k hotel if you can only stay in your room? Hopefully you can at least choose different restaurant food not pad thai and fried rice every day. 1

Popular Post lamyai3
What a racket. Promoting luxury quarantine, when in fact you're under house arrest confined to the room and not even free to enjoy the facilities that got the hotel it's star rating in the first place. The rules are so draconian they even prohibit alcohol, so there's no winding down with a gin and tonic after a long listless day spent staring out of the window.
Ketyo
What they should do is test everyone when they get off the plane. If everyone passes on the plane, let everyone quarantine at home for 14 days. Give them the App if necessary. But, if anyone on the plane tests positive for COVID.. then the whole plane has to go into government quarantine for 14 days either at a cheap government facility or one of these higher end options at their own cost. 1
