Thai FA needs to borrow money for first time in 104 years to stay afloat

Former commissioner general of the Royal Thai Police Gen Somyot Poompanmoung revealed that the Football Association of Thailand was having to borrow money to stay afloat. 

 

Now chief of the Thai FA, Somyot said that arrangements would be in place before the Thai league kicks off on September 12th. 

 

Jirat Janthasen, vice president of the Football History Association of Thailand said on his personal Facebook page that if the loan arrangement goes ahead it will be the first time in the 104 year history of the FA that they have had to borrow money. 

 

He said the move was made in order to avoid damage to the FA's reputation as a body under patronage.

  The rest of the world are playing football once again though behind closed doors many with high infection rates , there is no knowledge of any footballer getting infected ,Thailand are saying they have very low infection rates there is no practical reason whey they cannot play , yet more senseless stupidity .

Sounds like the the Thai F A have got sweet F A then .. 

 

In his earlier role as Chief of Thai Police Somyot had no difficulty with borrowing money, albeit from less than reputable sources.

Failing that, he could always lend some of his 'unusual' wealth to the Thai FA, at a reasonable rate of 10% per month. After all, he's reputed to be an astute business man!

Theres many footballers, coaches etc worldwide that have been infected, the names Hudson - Odoi, Boruc, Arteta & Dalglish immediately spring to mind from the UK & recently 2 Aberdeen players have been tested positive for COVID-19

Is there any Thai enterprise that is not broke?

Should play and let fans in, subject to reasonable social distancing of course.
