Heavy continuous rain since Thursday (August 19) night has left residents in Phrae’s Muang district struggling with severe flooding. In some areas, the water level was reported to be nearly 2 metres high.

Locals said flooding in and around Wat Ban Phan Choen temple in the Cho Hae sub-district was bad because a canal nearby had overflowed.

Cho Hae mayor Kasorn Pralat has deployed a team of officials to help people and assess the damage. He said wet mud has made a local road inaccessible to traffic.

Meanwhile, Muang district’s Toong Kwao sub-district was under more than a metre of water.
