Police arrested a 52 year old man in Bangkok following the murder of a 28 year old woman at a house in Phaeng sub-district of Mahasarakham.

Sakaodeuan or "Nong New" was found at the house on August 13th naked from the waist up. She was wrapped in a blanket in the bedroom and had apparently been strangled.

Her murderer was Itthichai, 52, who fled to Bangkok. The couple had only registered their marriage on 17th June and planned to marry at the end of the year.

He is now under interrogation in the hands of the Kosum Phisai police in whose jurisdiction the murder occurred. Whether a reenactment takes place depends on the agreement of the suspect, said Sanook.

They said that the suspect looked stressed and tried to avoid reporters on Sunday.

The dead lady's mother Surat said she had just prayed for his capture and her prayers were answered within two days. She described Itthichai as a very jealous man but there were unanswered questions.

The family had not seen the couple argue and she wondered what could have led to the murder.

She said that Itthichai had passed himself off as a rich man that would take care of her daughter and the family and build them a house.

But he was just a fraud who gave them fake gold and provided a few electrical appliances and a minor house extension.

She said she would not forgive him and wanted him prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

She said there was no truth to reports in the media that her daughter was carrying on with another man and had asked her husband for the keys to a car so she could take him out. She said her daughter couldn't even drive.

Yeah, just realised he screwed his whole life up instead of walking away.
