Pattaya has just become a 'normal'. quote attractive seaside city, with all the amenities you would ever want. Plenty of ladies around if that is what you want. 3

Popular Post bkk6060
This to me could be the greatest time ever to live in Pattaya. If you like golf discounts, girl discounts, food discounts, lack of crowds, no Covid. OMG, what else would a current retired male with a little money want? Can't think of a better place to be. Must be lots of jealous dudes out there reading about the good times now. So sorry. Never better.. Fewer one year visas being issued will hopefully lessen the prospect of any significant restriction or change to the requirements on that front for the forseeable future, especially if the level of tourism recovery is going to pan out as long as some govt ministers or official bodies suggest. I'm personally hoping for another decade of easy living here at which point I'll return to my native country for what I regard as better healthcare treatment if required. The best laid plans and all that.... Few foreigners means you are that much more likely to be extorted. Thais raise prices, when business is down.

I still think the police have been less visible with no tourists around. The deals currently available on hotels around Thailand don't support the price rise theory either. Got a great deal myself in Bangkok the other week and where I go regularly shopping the outlets were prepared to give me discounts to a level they've never offered before. Urban myth.

Western-owned businesses may do the same, BTW. On the contrary, I've found a number of discounts around town and my patronage even seems a bit more appreciated than before. I find it's mostly simpletons or the skint who don't enjoy our beloved cesspool in all seasons. Most expats, including myself, stay by choice. Overall, living here needn't be expensive at all. Fortunately, I can afford a bottle of Scotch as desired, though I prefer bourbon, and may enjoy a good cigar with it on occasion. Yes, there are in fact things like butter and milk, and lots of beer. I don't eat bread, and most expats obviously eat far too much of it. I have several salmon steaks weekly, thank you; in fact, one's on the menu for tomorrow evening. Many might also prefer you be in Egypt, and best wishes for moving there ASAP. ???? Edited August 28, 2020 by BigStar 1

I suggest mixing it up with some smaller fishes, perhaps ones containing omega 3, excellent for the brain. I do agree that farang (although it's getting more and more popular among thais as well, hence the amount of fatties going about) eat way too much bread.

If booze is too expensive give it up, if don't like Thai bread eat rice etc etc etc. If you insist on a western style life I don't know why you were in LOS in the first place BTW I and millions of Thais ate chicken all the time and never got sick from it. I haven't seen a single "check point" in at least a month. Doesn't mean they aren't doing them, I just travel the roads where they usually occur and they aren't there for now.

I presume you are not here in Thailand right now. Correct there are no tourists, but my interaction with them was limited. Incorrect that there are no ladies, there are plenty, and keen to mix. There is a much better girl to punter ratio, well from my perspective. No clubs, wrong again. Some bars and venues have not reopened, but those were the 100% tourist ones, a particular type of place that often did not attract the Expats anyhow. Insomnia, Ibar and many are open, Gentlemen's Clubs are open, I might say new ones are springing up. Quite a lot of GGBs are open. Been in places where you can't get a seat.... 3

RoadWarrior371
Why leave for good? Save your Baht for a year, and come back refreshed at a later date. You can even play "baby seal swarmed by Orcas" when you get back. Baby oil is optional.
